Welcome

I'm so pleased you are here. I am passionate about art and wellbeing. 

Art can connect us with nature, with our memories, and help us feel relaxed when we're stressed, energised when we're tired, or happy when we're sad. It can give us space to breathe in our busy lives.

 

​I've created Breathe Art to share my paintings, and to offer Art and Wellbeing mini retreats to anyone who needs calm and relaxation, and to introduce you to the benefits of beginning an art practice.

About

My name is Cheryl Cunningham

I am a natural healthcare therapist with 20 plus years experience of supporting clients with their mind and body wellbeing. I'm also a yoga teacher, artist and writer of poetry.

​

Much of my work is inspired by my love of the sea, and spending time walking in the Kent countryside.

​

My paintings are created with love, and a passion for connecting with nature. I hope that you can feel the joy I experience when sketching, and photographing the sea or landscape. I create sketches on paper back in my studio, exploring what I've seen and felt, before working on canvas or cradled panels.

​

I would love you to join me on an Art and Wellbeing mini retreat. I will share with you therapeutic movements, relaxation breathing and meditations, in a relaxed garden setting. I show you self care techniques and guide you through a painting  project. You will leave with a feeling of calm wellbeing.

Mini Retreats

Join me on a mini wellbeing retreat. Learn a variety of techniques for coping with a busy lifestyle, and times of stress.

 

I invite you to my home and secluded garden, where I will guide you through a series of movements and techniques to release tension and anxiety, and encourage a sense of relaxation and wellbeing. During our time together we will use many of the following:

gentle stretching, restorative yoga, mindful movements, self massage techniques, acupressure and reflexology points, face yoga, breathing exercises, meditation, energising movements, affirmations and sound therapy. My aim is for you to leave feeling calm and refreshed, with coping techniques that you can use at home.

 

In addition we will produce a unique piece of artwork, that we will then craft into either gift cards, a notebook, or a concertina journal for you to take home and use, or gift to a loved one. No art experience is necessary.

 

Tea, coffee and homemade cakes are provided, as are all materials.
